Carnaval is a really big deal down in Brazil. We love it because we always get a nice, long break from work and school, while the rest of the Country celebrates. We had a great time just hanging around the house, and having cookouts with friends.
This year, the rain put a damper on a lot of local festivities, but on the last day, the sun broke through, so Mommy and Daddy took me to the lake to go paddle boarding. I had a great time just hanging out on Daddy's paddle board, while he did all the work. Here's a pic of Mom and Dad practicing their skills! ;)
(just kidding)
Next time, we'll be sure to snap some pics!
Otherwise, we just had fun doin' our thing at Casa Portu-Giese...
Isla has learned that we'll all say "Awww....sweet baby!" when she lies her head on a pillow, so she does it all the time -What a cutie! Our friends hosted a Mardi Gras party, where even the cupcakes dressed up in festive colors! Isla was definitely ready to toss the steamed veggies when she spied those!
We didn't dress up like they do in Rio, but my typical day involves multiple outfit changes - many of which are as colorful as any Carnaval costume!
Sweetness.
Isla explores. A LOT.
Well...what can I say? I think Daddy enjoyed Fat Tuesday a little too much!
Peek a Boo!
...and that about wraps up our little 5-day Staycation!
